England Squad Revealed: Jude and Phil Omitted, Saka Returns

The England manager has opted to stick with the same England squad that triumphed against Andorra and delivered an impressive performance in Belgrade during the previous international break, leaving no room for the Real Madrid star and the Manchester City attacker in his selection for the forthcoming exhibition match against Wales and the qualifying match in Latvia.

Despite Foden making a strong case for a return to the squad after regaining his top condition at Manchester City, and Bellingham having returned for his Spanish club following a surgical procedure, the head coach has opted not to including two of the country's biggest offensive stars. Bellingham has started only once for his club since his comeback.

Tuchel has made room for Bukayo Saka, who is back to fitness and has been reinstated in place of his unavailable Arsenal teammate Noni Madueke. The experienced attacker has not received a return to the squad.

The national team coach expressed his admiration for the energy in the previous selection and seems intent on maintaining the vibe. Tino Livramento, who started at left-back in the 5-0 win in Belgrade, has been ruled out due to a knock. Tuchel has not called up a like-for-like substitute for the Newcastle player but has selected the Manchester City defender, who had to withdraw previously. He has spoken about the Manchester City defender's significance for the national team and has suggested using him in midfield.

No spot has been found for Adam Wharton, who was called up last month but withdrew due to injury and was substituted by the Milan player.

Tuchel said: “A mere three weeks since the last camp and the last win, the latest display, so the consideration was why not bring the identical squad in because they set the standard. The focus now is on creating habits out of it. We have unfortunately a couple of fitness issues at the moment with Tino and Madueke and we welcome of course the Arsenal forward in to take the place of Noni. Jarell Quansah was a last-minute addition previously; he will remain with the squad.”
