Cars in German Town Discovered Marked with Nazi Symbols in Human Blood, Police Report

Incident location Affected vehicle Area Law Enforcement
Police stated they were contacted by a resident who noticed a automobile in Hanau marked with red-colored fluid

Approximately fifty vehicles have been smeared with what appears to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.

Cars, exterior walls and mailboxes were marked, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they stated in a release.

Police say they were contacted in the late hours on Wednesday night, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued substance.

The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a swastika, they stated.

Officers then found many other marked automobiles and house walls in the surrounding area.

These symbols are illegal in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement report preliminary tests indicate the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.

"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; officials are not yet informed of any injuries in relation with the occurrence," they stated.

Municipal representatives stated they were trying "to unravel the case" and have appealed to the residents for information.

A high-ranking representative commented the incident left him stunned and needed to be solved quickly.

"This act affects the very heart of Hanau and reawakens the pain of the far-right violent incident five years ago," he stated on a platform, recalling the murder of nine victims by a assailant targeting residents of immigrant origin in February 2020.
